High Desert Art Fair

The High Desert Art Fair returns to the iconic Pioneertown, California, on March 28–29, 2026, transforming the historic Pioneertown Motel and nearby venues into a vibrant desert hub for contemporary art, live music, and cultural immersion in the heart of the American West.
Over the two-day event, each motel room becomes a unique pop-up gallery space, showcasing installations and curated works from local, regional, and national exhibitors. Expect a diverse range of mediums including photography, painting, sculpture, and more, alongside artist talks, book signings, and daytime programming that foster dialogue among artists, curators, collectors, and the high desert community.
The music programming gets bigger this year. It kicks off with a free opening party on Friday, March 27, at the Red Dog Saloon, featuring a special DJ set by renowned artist Shepard Fairey (@obeygiant) to set the tone for the weekend.
On Saturday night, head to Pappy & Harriet’s for a standout performance by Mark Mothersbaugh—the visionary artist, composer, and DEVO co-founder—who will debut The General, his one-of-a-kind custom instrument originally showcased in his Myopia retrospective. More musical guests and performances will be announced soon, promising a full evening of live music across Pioneertown.
New for 2026: exciting collaborations with Desert X bring additional talks and special programming, while a limited-edition Pioneertown Gazette will capture the weekend’s exhibitions, performances, stories, and desert vibes.
Gather your crew and escape to the high desert for this unforgettable blend of creativity and community! Tickets and updates are available via the official site.
